May 1999 was a big month for me. Not only was my daughter, Meredith, born on the 26th, earlier the same week, I released my debut CD, random white boy with Dancing Bull Music. random white boy was basically a bunch of random songs that I had performed in two cabaret shows I had done in New York called The House Is Rockin’ and White Boy Sings The Blues. It was produced by Jeff Waxman and we recorded it in his in-
home recording studio at Riverside & 103rd in 1998 and early 1999. Jeff played most of the instruments himself and charged me "the family rate" to do it as he is married to one of my long-time best friends, the fabulously talented cabaret diva, Lisa Asher. The CD contains only one original song, To Make You Believe Again, written by my friend, Ben Bagby. The rest of the CD is made up of a random selection of covers from Billy Eckstine’s Stormy Monday Blues to Bruce Springsteen’s Fire.
